All St. Jude Catholic School Students are required to
participate in all liturgical services provided during school hours.
Students are
taught the essential truths of the Catholic Church and are urged to cultivate good habits
of daily prayer, works of charity, and faithfulness to the sacramental life of the Church.
The work of the school is greatly enhanced when parents make an effort to practice their
Catholic faith at home and participate in Mass on a weekly basis.
The time and
effort taken in school to teach children the truths of the Catholic church and build good
habits are strengthened when parents practice the faith with their children. This is
why all parishioners who enroll their children at St. Jude School must participate in
weekly Sunday Mass on a regular basis.
Students in
grades 6-8 are invited to become Mass servers. Instruction is provided for
interested pupils.
St. Jude School encourages all
Catholic students to be eligible for age appropriate Sacraments. St. Jude Parish
provides the necessary preparedness for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation,
First Eucharist, and Confirmation. Parental involvement in preparation for the
Sacraments is required.
The primary mission of St. Jude Catholic School is to
prepare the children to become adult Catholic Christians. Stewardship plays an
important role in the lives of people who seek to follow Christ. Becoming a disciple
of Christ leads naturally to the practice of stewardship, the giving of one's time,
talent, and treasure in return for the blessings God has given. All Catholics are
called to be stewards of God's gifts. Therefore, this shared trust involves all in
the parish. St. Jude parishioners with children in the school exercise stewardship
to both the school and the parish. A yearly commitment of service and funds is made
by each family at the beginning of the Lenten season.
