Admissions

     Students are selected for admission on the basis of a priority list.  To be considered for admission the family must first place the student on a waiting list.  Contact will be made when a place is available.

     Students entering St. Jude Catholic School must meet the required age set by the State of Indiana.  In some cases a written recommendation from the previous school is also required.

Process of admission of new students

bulletfamilies of new first graders need to fill out a checklist of academic and behavioral skills that they bring with them from their previous school experience
bulletfamilies of transferring students, grade two through eight, need to have their school records transferred at the close of the prior school year
bulletacceptance of student on probationary standards

Records needed for admission

bulletbaptismal certificate *If you cannot locate your child was not baptized at St. Jude and you cannot locate his/her baptismal certificate, please contact the church he/she was baptize in and they can provide you with a certificate.

     All students are on probation for one year.  During the probationary period, academic performance and behavioral attitude is reviewed on a regular basis.  Parents will be contacted if problems begin to surface.  If the student/parent does not comply with the rules and policies set by St. Jude Catholic School, the registration of enrollment will be cancelled.  St. Jude Catholic School reserves the right to cancel a registration at any time in the year when the student/parent does not comply with the rules and policies set by the school.

     Families must be able to meet their financial obligations of tuition and parish support in order to enroll their children in St. Jude Catholic School. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify. St. Jude also participates in the SCRIP for Tuition program.

     All students must enroll for each academic year they wish to attend.

What information will I receive?

     Once admission records are filed, families can expect to receive the following:

     Families generally receive information packets during the year as follows:

bulletregistration for preschool and kindergarten
bulletfinancial information in May
bulletsupply list, school calendar, and newsletter in June
bulletclassroom assignments at the August Open House
